Who am I?:
We've got kind of a wacky agrarian, DIY aesthetic thing going on in this household, but since I'm not much of a knitter and don't plan on mastering macramé until I take that class in prison, most of the crafty time is spent in the kitchen. And often, the results are alcoholic in nature. Sometimes I sit down and write about it. Oh and I like teh beer!

The San Francisco Dogfish Head premiere, as reviewed within an introspection on the business of beer writing

Hey gang. So I got around to posting a little wrap-up piece on last night's shindig at Ye Olde Toronadoe, and, as it typically happens, the post ended up having much less to do with the event in question than about a completely unrelated subject. (For those three of who have read my site before would liken this situation… Continue

New group for home-brewin' 'Leumers

Since we seem to have quite the populous kitchen-, garage-, and back yard-brewing set amongst our ranks, I thought it might be about time for us to band together into our own little mash-posse: the Aleuminati Alechemists. It's destined to be the place to steal each other's recipes, pillage each other's hops rations, and make fun of each other's goofy labels. The possibilities are nearly endless.

On the mystical convergence between music and beer

Going through the Philosopher's archives recently, I noticed a post that he'd written on a beer and music episode of The Session (on a month that it was hosted by one of my local brewing heroes, Tomme Arthur, as it were), and realized that as much time as I spend wheedling around on the 'net,… Continue

The LongShot question: To submit to the humiliation, or just keep those bottles for my own enjoyment?

With the soon-to-be-legendary Sam Adams homebrew competition fast upon us, along with its phantasmagorical promise of having the winners' beers produced en masse by big Jim Koch himself, even I - I, who has never once entered a beer into a contest, joined a homebrew club, or even pitted my recipes against the rules of common decency - am debating posting a few very well-cushioned bottles off to B… Continue

About that "Aleuminati Special" ale...

Or would it be a lager? I finally got around to writing up a short post on the De Regenboog's 't Smisje BBBourgondier of which I so fortuitously came into posession recently. In a comment to Shawn's state of the unionati post, I posited that this beer also happens to summarize (boil down?) what can be so gre… Continue

Hello Friend!
Been out of the loop the past few days - and sadly away from the beer! Hope to begin pulling my weight again soon though.

Hey Rob, Thanks for the welcome message and the comments on my blog. I just left you a message on yours (though, thinking about it now it might be good if you didn't publish it since I don't want my email address public, attracting a lot of spam). I'm really excited about connecting with other Bay Area beer drinkers, but not so great with technology, so there will probably be a few bumps in the road as I get used to writing the blgo and being a part of this online community. At least it's good to know that everyone else is so welcoming. Thanks again! -JJ

Thanks for dropping in on my page. I'm also exploring some of the California brews lately. I tried my 1st brew from Stone Brewery last night - Arrogant Bastard Ale. That was a nice Strong Ale for sure.
