Setting and Circumstance

There certainly are a number of things to consider when tasting a new beer - color, clarity, head, taste and finish all come to mind, but it seems a novice beer collector like me needs to be aware of another, sometimes more important aspect of the tasting process as well. I call it Setting and Circumstance. I expounded on the topic (perhaps to excess) at Beer Rant but feel it's important and (hopefully) thought-provoking enough to raise here at Aleuminati as well. Beer Trading "Market Research"

Smitty, thanks for your service too then... I'm in the Air Force, but have worked with the Army on few things in my day. It's an honor and pleasure to serve, and I really mean that...

I hear you about retirement, we all gotta plan so we can chill when that day comes. I'd love to have a second carrier with a brewery after retirement, but I need to learn a lot more before that could happen.

Cool, how many years until you hit retirement? I'm a military guy myself...

Low level Gov functionary? I gotta ask, what do you do? No need to answer if you don't want to, but I dig the description. LOL!

Thanks for joining Smitty. New Belgium is my home town brewery! Good to see another NB fan.
