Days of the Beer, October 15
The beer for today, is Virgil's Root Beer, ok, so it's not really an alcoholic beer, but it's got beer in the name, which is good enough for me! Last night, after looking through the list of winners from the Great American Beer Festival, I noticed that I had one (ok, at least one) of the beers in the house that I haven't had before. In the box from Rob was a bottle of Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA. This beer took gold in the American-Style India Pale Ale category. The beer for today is Grumpy Troll Maggie Imperial IPA. On October 13, 1925, Margaret Hilda Thatcher was born. Maggie was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990. vbg-log Friday went to Fun Hunters; Ale Asylum; Grumpy Troll; and attempted New Glarus Saturday, couldn't find Two Brothers, but did make it to Goose Island clybourn. Good times, Great Beers. V

If you have time, check out Tip Top Kitchen & Cocktails. Or Surly Girl Saloon. Both are great beer spots ran by super localvores. The food is fresh and local and the beers are deliciously crafty!
Also, for an extensive selection, check out Bodega. It has about 50 beers on tap! Mmmm.
