Redhook Long Hammer IPA Gets a New Look

Replies to This Discussion

Is that wheat part molded into the bottle? Because that's really awesome if it is. My first beer babe review was on Longhammer actually, a decent IPA if I do say so myself. :)

Yeah, I think it might be ... although that photo appears to be an artist's rendering of the prototype, so it's hard to tell for sure. I can ask their PR contact if you're really, really curious.

I thought the bottle was cool too ... ...

it looks like their logo is also in the mold.

I wonder if it's going to be a plastic bottle?

So here is the response I got back from Laura, the PR person for Redhook, about their bottles/labels:

"Yes, the barley is molded into the glass of the bottle -- but only in the Western half of the U.S. The Eastern portion of the country has a simpler bottle without the glass mold."

So, those of you in the Western half of the country will have a pretty cool bottle in store ... the rest of us, not so much. Oh well. I find it interesting they split it up that way ...

Aw. I had to live within 5 miles of the Portsmouth Redhook. Sigh. Pretty cool anyway though.
