I started homebrewing before I was 21, by helping my ex-boyfriend, and I have been captivated ever since. Last October, I got married, and hops was the predominant theme. They were on the invitations, in the floral arrangements, and in the IPA on tap. I converted several people, including my soon-to-be sister-in-law and at least one groomsman, to hop-headedness. It was glorious.
Lately, some of my husband's family has started to brew. I've been wanting to help them more, but don't have enough funding for the brew set-up of my dreams. In addition, I can't brew at home because we're currently living with my in-laws, and my mother-in-law's asthma is affected by it. I need to get a job, and I want it to have something to do with beer...GOOD beer. I would love to get a job with Lakefront Brewery, I'm going to look into it, but don't know whether they would have any openings.
What it boils down to is this: I need a job. My ultimate goal is to open a brewpub in a rural area. My work history sucks. I'm trying to get into the brewing community, and get back into homebrewing, in the hopes that it will lead me to where I want to go. So I'm diving into the community. It's a start.
