All beer lovers out there, you must have drank many many mugs of beer over the years. Have you noticed that sometimes they taste different than what you have had earlier that’s because there are different kinds of beer and most people here probably know that. Here is a list of beer varieties I know about. You may discover a new variety or feel free to add a variety of beer you know about:
• Banana beer: a beer made by fermenting mashed bananas This variety of beer is popular in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. Miller flour and sorghum are leavening agents.
• Smoked beer: it is prepared by using malted barley which is dried over an open flame. This gives it a pungent smoked flavor
• Spruce beer: this variety has a distinctive fruity flavor coming from the buds and needles of spruce trees.
• Draught beer: is a filtered beer served from pressurized container. This system of deriving the beverage gives it a smooth, light taste.
• Hopposhu: the word itself tells you that this is a Japanese beverage. It is also known as low-malt beer. It is a beer-like beverage with less than 67% malt content. It has a creamy texture, deriving a rich flavor from alcopops.
