With a little research, we learned several things about Wales; they have a strange language, there is a really tall mountain and, most importantly, there is a burgeoning craft beer movement brewing real ale.… Continue

John LeMasney 9th Wedding Anniversary Dinner.

I enjoyed a wonderful evening out with my Wife of 9 years, Dawn, and she agreed to go to one of my favorite places for food and drink, Issac Newton's in Newtown, PA. I was looking forward to Pliny the Elder on Tap, but it had already run dry. I made up for it with two bottles: a 12 oz of Avery Old Jubilation (delicious) and a 750 ml of St. Bernardus Christmas Ale (stunningly amazing). I had a blackened chicken wrap, and vegetarian chili, and finished it all with a brownie ice cream treat for 2,… Continue

Deege Just tried a heather ale!

At the suggestion of a friend, I tried Fraoch Heather Ale. This beer is a bit different than most beers because the beer uses heather to bitter the beer instead of hops, but no so different that the beer is not familiar. If you're looking for a "hop recession proof" beer, I'd give this one a try. I'm going to try to find a recipe for it too! You can read more about it on my site. Cheers! Continue
