Beer "Celebrities"

I'm a beer groupie and call the objects of my admiration "beerlebrities". I've got pics with Charlie Papzian, the Alstrom Bros., Sam Calagione, Pete Slosberg, Garrett Oliver, Tom Dahldorf, Dave And... Continue

Profile

Favorite beer styles:
I fear no beer (well, maybe a few). Do I have to pick one? It depends on my mood, the time of day, the time of year, what I'm eating, what I ate, what I want to eat, what I'm doing.
Favorite Craft breweries:
The U.S. is chock full of outstanding breweries. In all my travels, I've only found 2 breweries that were no kidding bad (they'll remain unnamed). Among my favorites (but don't hold it against me if I forget one) -- Dogfish Head, Legend, Lagunitas, Laughing Dog, Stone, St George, Allagash, Rogue, Great Divide, Midnight Sun, Avery, Troegs, Stoudts, Dillon Dam, Oliver's Wharf Rat, Santa Fe, Bells, Victory, Boscos, Schlafly, Chicago (Las Vegas), Piece (Chicago), Nimbus, Odell, Weyerbacher, Flying Dog, Wynkoop, Carver, Fort Collins, Amica's, O'Fallon ... where do I stop?
Who am I?:
I'm a beer geek, beer nerd, beer dork, beer dog, beer lover, beer hunter, beer collector, beer traveler. I've visited over 450 breweries in 16 countries and 39 states and counting. I love travel and the joy of discovering new places. But across the US, look-alike strip malls and viral chain food outlets make everyplace look like any place. Small breweries are one of the few remaining vestiges of local uniqueness. Internationally, breweries reflect the local character, history and flavor. So to experience all the world has to offer, I'm consumed with visiting as many breweries as I can. And while I can spew the most trivial of nerdily recorded personal beer-tistics, none are more important measures of "life lived" than my brewery count.

Outstanding! My wife (who is not a big beer drinker but does oddly enough really enjoy IPAs) - she's more of a vino/hard alcohol girl - will be in the house! This should be a heckuva lot of fun!

narcissism

I was looking at my phone today and I thought: "Is it vain to have a picture of yourself as your wallpaper on your phone?"

TLB "Savor's" the moment

It's good to be back at the Aleuminati site. Please forgive our recent absence, we've been trying tirelessly to get our show picked up or sponsored in order to make it possible to bring you a show that is equal in quality and taste to the phenomenal beer we all enjoy. Step 1 in this journey is going to be our documentary of the Brewer's Association event: SAVOR. For those of you that don't know what this is, here's a link http://beertown.org/events/SAVOR/ Please take a look at the list of spe… Continue

I can finally say I love IPAs!

Thanks to the encouragement of many of you here on Aleuminati, I've been trying many IPAs over the last month or so and I can now say with confidence that I LOVE IPAs! I had my first Dogfish Head 90-minute Imperial IPA tonight and I just loved it! I wrote up a raving review of it tonight on my main blog. Looking forward to tasting more like this in the future.

Finally...

After many hours and countless phone calls, the staff of MidwestMicroBrews is pleased to announce that we have now add the great beer states of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota to our directory. We are proud to be helping the microbreweries and brewpubs of these states reach a wider audience. There are some great ones. Check 'em out if you get a chance. Cheers!
