Michael Morgan replied to BrewPup's discussion Double Fermentation Question in the group Aleuminati Alechemists
"I know ALOT of brewers who dont secondary anything... I only secondary if the beer is going to take a long time to ferment out(more then 8-12 weeks...) but then alot say it helps clear the beer they are making.... IMHO leave it in primary for 3…"

olllllo replied to BrewPup's discussion Double Fermentation Question in the group Aleuminati Alechemists
"Secondary fermentation is a misnomer. What you are really doing is racking off the yeast cake into a new vessel. It's really more appropriate to consider this stage as a clearing stage and the secondary fermenter your brite tank. If you are…"

Favorite beer style(s) of the moment:
Currently hooked on Scottish ales. It's been rainy, foggy and dreary for the last several weeks here, so I think that has something to do with it.
Who am I?:
University of Iowa graduate. Beer lover. Living in Des Moines area, the best part of which is having the guys at Beer Crazy answer any and all of my questions about brewing.
Do you have a website? If so, what's the URL?
