Favorite beer style(s) of the moment:
Sour beers, Porters, Stouts, ESBs, Kolsch, Belgian Strong ales, IPAs and American ambers mostly but I'll try any beer once. Recently getting into the Imperial porters and stouts. Yes - I finally love IPAs!
Who am I?:
I'm another 49 year old beer geek who is Fermentedly Challenged. I'm a long time corporate IT cubicle slave who lives for his ale after a hard day on the keyboard. I moonlight as the Northern Colorado Beer Examiner for Examiner.com. I first homebrewed back in the late 90's but got lazy and just started buying all those great craft beers. Looking to get back into home brewing again soon. @ChipperDave on twitter.

It can also help reduce the risk of other bacteria getting a foothold first in your wort.
