First emerging hop of the year!

I think it's safe to plant hops right now as long as the ground isn't frozen. It will take a month or so before they pop up. Even if we get another freeze, there will be more shoots coming up. After I took this photo I realized all my hops are up except the Mt Hood hope.

Can't help but think Colorado is in for at least one more big winter blast before the growing season hits. I'm wanting to plant hops this year for the first time but I fear I need to wait until 1st of May before it's safe. This year has been way too dry and mild.

nice, here in south east va, my hops aren't out yet, but will start looking almost every day.
