Ray, thank you for the invite. I've just discovered sours and this looks like a great place for some recommendations and discussion!

Have a Batch #1 bottle of Ommegang Ommegeddon Funkhouse ale I'm holding until its 2 year anniversary ...

My version of Consecration is 001x2, so you may have something there. Any idea which yeasts Vinnie used to bottle the four batches?
Ray Grace Comment by Ray Grace on March 24, 2009 at 11:54am
I'll look when I get home, I only managed to get one bottle. Apparently they had them at Whole Foods and put them on the shelves. As you can guess, as soon as someone posted that on BA, they disappeared.

update to the gueze lists coming soon...I'm less well-versed in that area but hope to remedy it...

Speaking of Consecration, I'm curious... Ray, which batch # do you have? Mine are 001x4, as it seems most of the bottles around the Bay Area are. Curious if the x1, x2, or x3 were the ones they ended up sending down south...
Eric Alston Comment by Eric Alston on March 24, 2009 at 11:46am
I envy you your Consecration immensely. I have yet to sample any of Russian River's takes on the sours, but I hear they are simply top-notch. I suppose I shall have to content myself with my rapidly dwindling stash of Avery Brabants...

A recent recommendation: Handbakk Norwegian Sour Ale, Hand Bryggeriet (Hand Brewery), Drammen, Norway

Aged in sherry and rhubarb wine barrels...and boy that rhubarb lends a nice touch!
