The Aleuminati-the not so secret society of better beer drinkers

The only thing that's mysterious is why people would drink cheap, fizzy beer.

Information

Southern Beer

A group of individual(s) dedicated to bringing better beer to the South. Sure, it's an uphill battle. But we'll get there. Heck, we've got a few good breweries already! Highland, Duck-Rabbit...

The Lexington Avenue Brewery (or LAB) finally opened in Asheville earlier this month. Definitely worth a try if your in the area. Very nice place with good food too.

With spring coming up before too long it's back to my favorite brewery in Asheville...The Wedge! Not that they're not open in winter, it's just so much better with the outdoor seating. Can't wait

there's a couple new breweries in the Cool Springs area of Franklin, TN. I haven't had the chance to try them yet nor have I heard anything about them, but new craft brew is good craft brew :)

One of them is called Cool Springs Brewery www.coolspringsbrewery.com

The other is called D&T Pub (I think) but it doesn't look like they have any web presence

I cordially invite anybody in the Atlanta area to attend the October Beer Meetup on Saturday, 17 October, starting at 4:00 PM at the Summits Wayside Tavern in Snellville right on Highway 78. It is well worth the drive from Atlanta thanks for a fantastic selection of beers on-tap and in bottles. Also, they have some darned good food, and in October they feature some tasty German cuisine.

Wow, that was fast. Thank you. I think I'll check them out on my way home

I would check Bruisin' Ales in Asheville. They have everything.

I've really been enjoying Dogfish Head brews lately, so I'm looking forward to trying their Pumpkin Ale this fall. Anyone tried it? How is it? And does anyone know where to find it in the Asheville, NC area? My local Ingles almost certainly wont have it

Some of the Fall beers are my favorite, Sam Adams Octoberfest among them and I tried Sarnac pumpkin this weekend and liked it too, any other suggestions?

Hi to everyone from Charlotte NC area, if you live in this area I hope you know about Brawleys Beverage on Park road, he has a great selection and can get most anything you want as well as really knowing his beers. The local paper used him to do food pairings with beer a few years ago

Not sure if Missouri qualifies as Southern, but as a transplant from Wisconsin, it sure feels Southern. Anyway, I do a fair amount of traveling in Texas, Florida, Alabama, and Georgia so I'd check out the group.
