The Aleuminati-the not so secret society of better beer drinkers

The only thing that's mysterious is why people would drink cheap, fizzy beer.

Just wanted to know where everybody's favorite place to drink a craft brew in sunny southern California is? Two of my favorite places are Beachwood BBQ in Seal Beach, amazing ever-changing list of often hard to find craft brews in a friendly and cozy setting and Stone World Bistro and Gardens - amazing beer list, great food, in an amazing setting.

I have a soft spot for Pizza Port Solana Beach, but mostly because I have some good memories there and haven't actually gotten around that much in SoCal. Planning on hitting the SD Toronado next time I'm down there, happy to know it's become the local watering hole for one of my old friends from way back. Other than that, I have a lot of exploring to do...

Yet to make it to any of the Pizza Ports. Unfortunately even with all the wonderful beer places in SoCal, especially in San Diego, you're pretty much stuck with driving everywhere. Oh how I wish for a locallized downtown community like LoDo in Denver or Portland, or an actual real live functioning rapid transit system.

I live in the desert. I have to be content with a yardhouse. But when I am in Santa Monica, I love Fathers Office (been a customer over 20 years) and the Daily Pint....They recently opened a BevMo here. Its good not great...no alesmith, russian river, Bear Republic. But they do have my favorite DFH 90 as well as Stone Ruination, RIS. alot of Belgiums so I guess I should not complain....

The San Clemente Pizza Port is the best place near to me. Solid pizza and solid tap list. Plus, some real gems show up every once in a while (they had Abyss on about a month ago.)

But if I could live alking distance from any beer bar, it would be Toronado. The taplist is always very eclectic, and the bottle list blew my mind. They had Struise Black Albert, Lost Abbey Cable Car, and Boulevard Imperial Stout, just to name a few.

Lucky Baldwin's - two locations...original in Old Town Pasadena and - a second one in Sierra Madre. Both are personal favorites. Home of a bi-annual Belgian Beer Fest, and IPA fest and a Barleywine Fest.

My favorite right now, due to close location and being a local is La Bella's Pizza in Chula Vista. Has lots of local beers on tap between the Pizza Restaurant and the Cafe with games next door. Only carries basic needed macro brews, for the masses, and only like 2 of those.
