The Aleuminati-the not so secret society of better beer drinkers

The only thing that's mysterious is why people would drink cheap, fizzy beer.

My beer of the year was an IPA - Nogne-O's IPA. Wonderfully balanced, piney and darker in the body than expected. great stuff.

Does anyone have a trading system set up (if it's even legal via mail) where beers from different regions can be traded with those from others?

I'm in Dallas and cannot get my hands on any Russian River BC beers due to their limited distributions. I can get St. Arnolds (Houston, TX), Diamond Bear (Little Rock, AR) and Real Ale (Hill Country - Texas) for those interested.

Got to try the newest offering from Surly last night - Surly Wet. Fantastic. Nice hoppy aroma with a tangerine note to it, flavor is also citrusy and the bitterness comes through in the finish. I'll have to make sure I hit a few bars to drink this while it lasts.

I had my first taste of Pliny the Elder (in his liquid form) a couple weeks back...an excellent, excellent brew...

I'll finally get a chance to try Pliny the Elder in a few weeks. My wife and I are going to Santa Rosa in April and we're staying a couple of miles from the Russian River B. C., so I'll definitely get my fill (and hopefully bring some home).

My "handle" is Hoptrollop so it's no surprise that I love IPAs. My favorites are a local brewpub's Mad Happy, DFH 60 & 90 min, Hopgasm, Houblon Chouffe, Oskar Blues Gordan, and many many more. Including my husband's homebrew and I always make sure he has something hoppy on tap to drink.

I like Sweetwater IPA - it's one of the best I have had.
Dogfish Head 60 Minute and 90 Minute are good too. I hope that I will be able to scare up 120 minute sometime soon - maybe when I visit Pittsburgh.
