Granted, I don't exactly know how (other than swinging by to buy a pint and tip your server generously), but if you're a Bay Area local craft beer fan, you ought to be aware that one of our most enthusiastic, community-minded, and sustainably-run breweries is likely closing down when their lease runs out this summer thanks to some typically blinkered reasoning by greedy landlords.

The two people on this planet who read the Marin IJ already knew this was coming, but the local legions of craft beer fans are now onto it as well since Brookston's been covering it as well. Iron Springs isn't just a place that makes quality craft beer (although I'll admit that I like that they do), or a place that acts as our town's true "public house" (in the original sense of the word "pub"), but they're also the 6th largest tax revenue generator of our entire town (not to mention one of the most philanthropic businesses in town, either), which means this is less of a case of "hey landlord scum gimme back my beer" as it is "hey landlord scum I'm kinda concerned about having a public works department on the budget next year."

Do yourselves - and them! and us! - a favor and stop by to say hi to Mike and Anne, enjoy some of their fine craft beers (or house-made sodas, for you DDs) and ask if there's anything you can do to help.
