Hello, I've been away from brewing for over a year now, pathetic I know...  But a couple of friends are looking for me to introduce them to the....  Any recommendations on what we should brew for a simple, yet quality brew?  Looking for an easy first recipe (extract with some steeping grains, etc.)

Hello theBryon. I'm getting ready to teach a "Welcome to Homebrewing" class at our local grocery Co-Op. While I have been pushing the category 23 beers recently (most recently a Chocolate Chai Cream Stout), I'm going to brew up a Honey Wheat beer. It's a great base beer that can stand on its own but it is also a good springboard for whatever flavor adjuncts you want: fruit, spices, or otherwise. That might be a good "dust the cobwebs off" beer.
Thanks for the suggestion... I made a pretty good honey Witbier in Aug of 2009... (my last brew actually, how sad)...
