Have you guys ever heard of the urban legendish theory that plants that have been played music grow faster and healthier than those that grow in silence? I heard this growing up and couldn't help but apply it the first time I had a Wyeast smack pack just activated. I guess I generally listen to some tunes while brewing anyway, but the question is... what kind of music gets them going? Do they like something exciting, maybe aggravating, like some 1980's Metallica to get them really riled up, or do they prefer something soothing, like Bach, or maybe something like Al Green to get them in the mood.

I think they like the 60's band Bread !!

If you don't have a magnetic stir plate, set your starter near a sub-woofer and play them some Hip Hop. The thumping bass should keep them stirred up.

Good Luck
