The Aleuminati-the not so secret society of better beer drinkers

The only thing that's mysterious is why people would drink cheap, fizzy beer.

So, anyone planning to enjoy something special for the Super Bowl today? I've yet to decide ...

I too have a bottle of Firestone XII that I was going to drink on New Year's Eve until I got sick. Maybe, I should sit on it till next New Years.

I'm doing some of my homebrew- an IPA and an English bitter style done with American hops. May even crack open my last homebrewed porter.

The superbowl is today? Completely slipped my mind. Srsly. However, I did enjoy Brooklyn's Black Ops yesterday, so if I was looking for a great beer, I'd have to go no further. Fantastic.

I am having a few people over. My full compliment of homebrew tap beers will be avavilable.
Too Tough to Die - a Centennial IPA
El Duderino - an Amarillo/Simcoe APA
Old Coyote - A Mild
Superstition Sout - a nitro Dry Irish

and I will debut
Jacob Waltz' German Cowboy Meheeco Lager - a Vienna Lager

I might pop the cork on a Deus, depending on the outcome and the mood.

I'm planning to open a bottle of Duvel that I've been storing since last summer. Hope it survived the wait.

Please don't hate me, everyone, but I went with a 12 pack of Schlitz. Steelers in the Superbowl? It feels kind of '70's. If I can't have a 12 pack of Iron City, I might as well have a 12 pack of Schlitz. I will admit, however, I added in the occasional Anchor Porter, Schlafly Oatmeal Stout, and a Belgian White style that shall remain nameless.

It was these comforts that made the game enjoyable.

I got to sit in a VERY smoky VFW hall while sipping Coronas and listening to people talk about how radical the new American Ale from Bud is. Ugh.

Sounds like fun!

I actually had to drink Coors Light! It was the special at the casino party I attended in Vegas. Nasty, but cheap! (Actually, there were two free ones included with the ticket price.)

Homebrews all the way. Brown Porter and an American Brown Ale. I guess we thought Cleveland was playing?

Innis & Gunn Oak Aged. I went with something I knew.
