The Aleuminati-the not so secret society of better beer drinkers

The only thing that's mysterious is why people would drink cheap, fizzy beer.

Can any of you suggest some great local beer from the Washington, DC, New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas and/or Phoenix areas? Beers that you can't get anywhere but in the local say 100 mile area, or at least not in Florida.

I know all the cities have great beer with solid distribution. But I have an opportunity to be in several of those cities this year and would like a heads up to something new.

Thanks.

The first couple of things that come to mind that you can find in the LA area that you probably can't find in Florida are Russian River Pliny the Elder and Blind Pig as well as anything from the Bruery in Placentia. If you can give me more information as to when and where you'll be in LA and what kind of transportation you'll have, I can better direct you to places to get great beer. Also, a lot of the Lost Abbey stuff is readily available if you can't find that.

NYC - Sixpoint Craft Ales

Reply to This

Hey Kevin.

Thanks for the recommendation to Sixpoint Craft Ales. The NYC trip is coming up shortly and my friend will be staying in the Chelsea area in Manhattan. It seems that a Whole Foods very near there sells a good amount and variety of beers. I'm looking at a few from Victory Brewing and was hoping you could recommend 2 or 3 from Sixpoint. Thanks and talk to you soon.
