I have had some excellent seasonals recently: Breckenridge Christmas Ale, BridgePort Ebeneezer Ale, Bell's Christmas, Gouden Carolus Noel, Mikkeller Fra Til, De Ranke Pere Noel, X-Mas Zinnebir, R. J. Rocker's First Snow, Heavy Seas Winter Storm and New Belgium 2 Below.
My first Christmas ale this season was the Fantome Noel, wonderful sour. I'm up visiting the in-laws in Oregon right now so I've been drinking stuff I can't find at home. Grabbed a few things from Ninkasi as well as one from Pelican and a fresh-hop from Bridgeport. Haven't decided yet what I'll have with dinner tomorrow night, maybe the Oatis oatmeal stout from Ninkasi, might pair well with the turkey.
We tapped a Schwenkelweiss Black Wheat for the Winter Solstice. It's named after one of our brewers Kyle Schwenke. It's a dark lager which is tapped on Nitro. Very chocolatey and smooth. It had the texture of velvet. What a nice winter small batch beer.
