Anything for German Beer Day?

Hi everyone! I'm Scott and I love beer!

Everyone knows that 'German Beer Day" is coming up in April (April 23?) Now I know the Germans have the whole Oktoberfest thing in their corner, but I was wondering if anyone knew if there were any celebrations or festivals going on for German Beer Day. I'm not aware of any, are you?

Never heard of it. Closest thing I can think of is Maifest, which is going to be celebrated around here on May 17. Sigh, another beer drinking holiday to add to an already crowded calendar...

German Beer Day marks the date that the 'German Beer Purity Law' or "Reinheitsgebot" was enacted in 1516 stating what stuff could go into the making of beer; water, barley, hops. That's it. Its been changed over the years, and I think its become a drinking holiday in Germany. I've never heard of anything here in the States for it, but where I live it isn't a large German population. Just curious to see if anyone had heard of anything elsewhere. ThX!

I'll be drinking something too, probably not German though. We're doing this English Ale Month so it'll probably be something from there!
