Good evening all,

My office is sending me to suffer in Miami, FL for a weekend. Oh the horror. I don't know how I will ever survive. Ok... joking aside. My normal practice is to hit a local beer store and try to find something local and really good. Now, one of the good things is that I can finally hit some of the beer stores in St. Louis (or actually Granite City) on my way back Sunday. But what I am interested is if anyone knows of some good local labels that I should hunt down while in Miami. Suggestions?

Hopefully some of the fellow Aleums can help you out ... I've never known Miami to be much of a beer destination, but there's bound to be something worth while. Have fun out there!

I keep asking people who go down to spring break to bring me back some local beer; but I don't think there are any.

They have a Porthole Sampler with six 5 oz. glasses of their different beers for $4.50. It's a fun idea, but I doubt my body could ever handle that much beer…

Greetings one and all. Miami survived me! I mean I survived Miami. It’s an interesting area. You can really tell the Latin American influence in the area. There are a lot of things that are posted bilingually. The definition of “local” beer includes some type of cerveza. Even in the stores where there wasn’t a language barrier it was hard for me to find something that I would truly enjoy.

However, a MAJOR thank you to ChipperDave. Thanks to Dave, on Saturday early evening I ended up driving due south from the hotel where I was working in search of the Titanic Brewery & Restaurant. It was a nice drive – only about 4.2 miles from the hotel. It’s down in the area just south of the University of Miami area. I had the Porthole Sampler along with their ribs. Nothing outstanding but it was all good.

Time to revisit this discussion. Although this time I'm not going to Miami. I headed to the opposite corner of the country - Seattle. I visited the beer mapping project (http://beermapping.com/maps/citymaps.php?m=seattle) and fully realize that Seattle is a beer Mecca. There are a lot of interesting things out there. However, I have never been out there and I'm curious as to what my fellow Aleuminati this is the pinnacle of beer in the Seattle area.
