Helium.com Beer Steward

Some of you may be familiar with helium.com? Essentially it is an outlet for folks to submit and publish their articles on any and every topic under the sun. The articles are then rated by other users and ranked accordingly. I've found the site to be quite informative and well-managed, for the most part. Rather than being just another "mash-up" site, helium.com seems to have their act together and the quality standards and vision for the site are top-notch.

All of that, of course, is about to change drastically since the folks at helium.com have decided to make yours truly the "Beer Channel Steward" for the site. Of course, the obligatory follow up question is, "what is a beer channel steward, and why do they need one," right? Right.

That, or, "what were they thinking!"

Basically, I'll be the guy that monitors beer-specific content on the site, makes suggestions for new content, helps authors who are writing about beer tighten up their articles from time to time and answer any beer-related questions that aren't sufficiently answered on the site. I've also been asked to head up a "beer writers collaborative" on the site, which I plan to dive into and get rolling in the near future.
