The Aleuminati-the not so secret society of better beer drinkers

The only thing that's mysterious is why people would drink cheap, fizzy beer.

Join the Aleuminati! You’ve heard of 300 - the beard-wearing, ab-crunching band of Spartans who took on the entire Persian army in an epic, graphically-enhanced, battle to the death. Now I’m pleased to give you 200! As in the number of Aleuminati members we about to reach! Just like the Spartans (only somewhat less angry, I hope) the Aleuminati are poised to take on the legions of bad beer drinkers gathering at our borders (and bars) with all manner of zymurgically-charged knowledge and fervor.

Not only are we getting bigger, we’re getting better! These stats should cause anyone who loves a good beer to shout with Spartan-like enthusiasm and raise their style-appropriate glass of fine ale in a hearty A Votre Santé!

-There are 1726 photos, 178 forum topics and 190 members so far.

Not too shabby for a site that measures its existence in months not years. For those who have become regulars, I offer my sincere thanks. For those who signed up and don’t log-in often, don’t feel bad. We all wish we had more time to do “beer stuff.” Stop in when you can, we’ll be here and we'll leave the light on for ya.

If you’re a member, but have never been active on the site, I wanna encourage you to fill in your profile. You might be surprised how many cool people you can meet and that share at least one interest in common with you – beer! Now that’s a cause to rally around, huh? As one member recently put it, “this site is like facebook for adults!” Yes, and not only that, it’s like Facebook for adults with good taste in beer. Now how’s that for filling a niche in the social networking world?

A final request of each of you; a rallying cry if you will - if you have friends who love beer, please consider inviting them to join. There’s a handy “Invite Friends” link right in the top right corner of your member page for that very purpose. Even if you know people who might not be able to tell you the difference between an ale or a lager or that think the name Calagione refers to a sort of stuffed pizza, invite ‘em anyway. They’ll discover there’s more to life than bad beer and you’ll feel good about helping someone “see the light, not the Lite.”

Aw, looks like he's a couple short of a six-pack...or maybe he's holding a couple 1/6 barrels out at arm's length

When he can sport his half-keg abs, (like me), then he can call himself a beerdrinker!
"Men, Gather your mugs, for tonight we drink!"
