The Aleuminati-the not so secret society of better beer drinkers

The only thing that's mysterious is why people would drink cheap, fizzy beer.

Tell us your ultimate summertime beer! Could be a specific beer, from a specific brewer, or a particular style ...

So what beer gets you through the "dog days"?

Yes, I believe I tried it a few months ago rob. Will have to check notes.

Have any of you tried Dupont's Avril, their table-strength saison? I've got a bottle of it on standby for an extra-hot outdoor labor day, but haven't tried it yet. Because while I love a saison in the summer (or anytime, really), the promise of a 3.8% version definitely peaked my interest as a way to ward off a thirst born of painful yard work.

I've wanted to try this too ... on the other end of the spectrum, I opened a bottle of the "Les Bons Vaeux" last night - at 9.5% - heavenly, none the less.

Rob,

I haven't tried that one before. We just recently got Saison Dupont distributed in Louisiana. Sounds good though. The low ABV would be nice during the heat of a New Orleans summer.

There's a definite "Christmas in July" theme in your recent tastings, eh?

All the votes for sour beers are awesome to see.

My favorite "Neo-BW-style-beer" is an excellent summer beer: Festina Peche.

mmmm! I think I uploaded a photo the other day in fact...

Kolshs are definitely a great second choice.

Thanks to notifications, this thread is picking up again. Neat!
I've already posted my favourites but, since then, I've mostly been drinking my own mild ales. Both of them are quite tasty and they work remarkably well as summer beers.
Other beers I've enjoyed, recently, as summer beers: Apricot Cream Ale from Benelux and McAuslan Pale Ale. Another thing I've been drinking on occasion is a bland beer with some syrup added. Not supposed to be a craft beer lover's choice but it's been working well for me, in context.

About Saison Dupont. It's commonly available, here in Montreal, but it's consistently skunked. I notice the bottle in the picture is brown. All Saison Dupont I've seen was in green bottles.
