It's becoming ubiquitous here now, but after a softball game or double header, it's so damn refreshing...

Leinenkugel Summer Shandy.

I've got a straight wheat homebrew in the fridge, and I want to mix that with lemonade, but haven't got any lemonade.. nor have I been home enough to drink it.

I dig the Shandy on a hot day, definitely. Of late, I'm gravitating toward Belgian-style witbiers ... Hoegaarden (though it's arguably not the beer it used to be) and my new-found, newly-available in So. IL favorite of the style ... New Belgium Mothership Wit!

i certainly love the leinenkugel summer shandy, i also love there sunset wheat which seems to be more available in NJ, many of my friends say it has a fruity pebbles taste to it, and well i am inclined to agree. i also enjoy a good hoegarden

If I'm not mistaken, I believe they actually use a blueberry extract in the Sunset Wheat ... don't quote me on that, but it's what I've heard.

I drink mostly my own homebrew. Drinking mainly Wit, Hefe, Pilsner, and Saison. Though I'm kegging a Porter tonight for those nights on the beach when it's in the 60s.

Living in San Francisco the past few years, the 21st Amendment, a local brew pub, makes a great Watermelon Wheat. They also can it, making it great for those afternoons chillin on the deck or in the park. In addition to that, even though it's summer, I'm still a sucker for my porters and IPAs.

I like a Bavarian Hefe Weizen. I have a homebrew recipe which is fantastic, but I'm behind in my brewing so it'll have to be Paulaner or Franziskaner for me...

I second the witbier vote... I made a batch from a Brewer's Best kit this Spring, and it did not last long. Very tasty. Allagash White is a great beer to try...

Allagash White is phenomenal ...wish it was easier to come by around here.

I have a St. Bernardus Wit in the beer fridge right now awaiting my arrival this evening!

I have not tried St. Bernardus yet, but have been curious. May need to pick some up for the 4th of July weekend... I see St. Bernardus and Allagash are tied on beeradvocate.com...

Now, I'm a fan of the dark stuff and people don't really think that dark beers and a hot summer day go together. I'm still loving it though!! If I were to go lighter for summer I would want to drink Terrapin Rye Pale Ale out of Athens, GA.

Solo? Saison. With some fine summer fruits and cheeses? Gueuze.
