The Aleuminati-the not so secret society of better beer drinkers

The only thing that's mysterious is why people would drink cheap, fizzy beer.

If you had to create a calendar and replace the name of the month with a particular style of beer what would your choices be?

Before making your choice consider this: you'd be restricted to drinking only that particular style of beer for that month. Given that, how would you label the months on your beer calendar? (Don't use specific beer names, but rather a particular style).

12 or 13 month year ... hehe, north or southern hemisphere...

I'll say based on my location(illinois) and a 12 month calendar, with 4 distinct seasons

month 1 - sweet stout (milk/oatmeal/chocolate)
month 2 - Russian Imperial stout
month 3- trappist (is that a style?) dubbel/tripel
month 4 - bock/maibock/doppelbock
month 5- wheat/white/wit/weizen
month 6 -kolsch/helles/pilsner/alt/export
month 7 - scotch
month 8- pale
month 9- ipa
month 10 - octoberfest/marzen
month 11- barleywine
month 12 - spiced/pumpkin/winter warmer/holiday/christmas

I'm in the south where it's hot from April through October, so I'll pick accordingly.

J - Milk Stout
F - Belgian Strong Dark Ale
M - Irish Red Ale
A - Cream Ale
M - Maibock
J - Pale Ale
J - Hefeweizen
A - Saison
S - Belgian Strong Pale Ale
O - Oktoberfest
N - Schwarzbier / Black Lager
D - Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

While restricting your choices down to just 12 styles may be difficult for some, it makes you think hard about what your favorite 12 styles are. Now granted some styles are pretty wide open and you could enjoy quite the variety. Some are a bit more restrictive.

As for me I'd name my months as such:

January=Porter, February=Stout, March=ESB, April=Belgians, May=Doppelbock, June=IPA, July=Wheat, August=pales, September=Ambers, October=Oktoberfest (naturally), November=Imperials, December=holiday warmers

I don't really have a month calendar but i would say every month is IPA month. I do have some seasonal things. In the summer I like light ales like Kolosh and Hefes. In the fall I like pumpkin ales. In the Winter I like barleywines and spiced beers. In the spring I usually drink ESB's and red ales. I will have to pay more attention and give you a month by month list next year.

May. Hefeweizen
June - Honey Amber Ale
July - Kolosh

Thats about as far a i can go and I only know this because I brewed them myself.
